Among all of the many emotions involved in the process of car buying, ‘fun’ is rarely mentioned. Must this be the case?
It has always been my contention that fun needs to be a part of the equation, that once we have made the difficult decision to spend all that money, it might as well be made an enjoyable experience. I mean, the hard part is over, right?
During the (instant classic) Cadillac commercial for the CTS, a clear eyed and confident woman is behind the wheel. She is driving through a tunnel, and the tunnel lights illuminate the interior enough to see that she is the epitome of a focused professional woman. And, of course, she is gorgeous.
She asks the question she says is most important: ” When you turn on your car, does it return the favor?”
At AskPatty.com, fun is the very first impression, and it is surely an enjoyable experience navigating through the site. But, make no mistake, this is no ‘girlie’ car site.
Mega-talented Jody Devere is the CEO and President of AskPatty.com, Inc. She is also the President of the Woman’s Automotive Association International and, not surprisingly, has assembled a remarkable array of talented partners.
While NASCAR star Deborah Renshaw is probably the most visible of the advisory panel, author and buying expert Amy Mattinat and automotive technology expert Lori Johnson are at the very top of their fields. AskPatty lists no fewer than 47 female automotive experts in all disciplines, from marketing and sales managers to parts managers, service directors, magazine editors and dealer principals.
The result of gathering all of this talent together? A lively and informative website that doesn’t talk down to anyone. It doesn’t matter whether you are a car expert or are shopping for your first one. It doesn’t matter whether you want to do some research on your own or find a female-friendly dealer. It doesn’t even matter if you are a boy or a girl, AskPatty offers a comprehensive solution for buyers and enthusiasts alike.

AskPatty is an amazing concept and organization. When AskPatty’s objective is achieved, both dealerships and consumers win.
AskPatty works closely with dealerships to educate personnel about the importance of “Patty,” after all, never before have women wielded the purchasing power that they do today. Dealerships learn first hand not only that women ARE their primary consumer, but also how the expectations of women differ from those of men, and how to meet those expectations. Treating everyone equally, while a noble notion, is not the goal. Very different criteria and expectations need to be met to win the respect and loyalty of female customers.
The end result is a greater number of satisfied female customers who are pleased with their automotive shopping or servicing experience .
Satisfied female customers are loyal, and their repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals are a boon to car dealerships.
AskPatty is a win-win!
